Study Skill #1

After having spending 2 hours with my math tutor, I realized that I should change my study habit. I would use to think that you needed to read a whole textbook first, and then see if you learned it all by taking a test. that's not the way to go.

here's my strategy: take practice tests to get a feel of how the real test is like. from there, when you stumble on questions you don't understand, write down the question, and from there, write questions about that question. for example, i came upon a question about finding the 12th term of a geometrice sequence. questions you might ask are: what is a geometrice sequence? what is the formula for finding the nth term of a geometrice sequence. by asking questions like these, you'll be able to learn new concepts, and after it is set in stone, you'll be able to answer any of those kinds of questions. that is why i went to the State Library to borrow a good math text book, sort of like a reference/teacher book where i can look things up, take notes, and learn new concepts. that is how you should study for the SAT math, as well as for the SAT II Math IIC and Physics. Create questions out of questions, so you'll get more information for the price of one question!!! (by the way, buy lots of composition books, you'll be taking a lot of notes!!!)

check back tomorrow for a lesson on probability!!!
